“Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off” – A Prestigious Half Moon Bay Event

The most awaited event this year is fast approaching. Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off is a famous and prestigious event in Half Moon Bay during October of the year. This year’s event is happening on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the IDES Grounds, 735 Main Street, Half Moon Bay, California. Champions will be awarded a special $30,000 mega prize. Wow! Isn’t that amazing?

To receive the $30,000 mega-prize, the grower must break and hold the world record at the conclusion of the Half Moon Bay weigh-off. The current world record pumpkin is 2,323 pounds set on October 12, 2014 by Swiss grower Beni Meier at a weigh-off in Ludwigsburg, Germany. To view the official rules for Half Moon Bay’s Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off, visit this link. The grand champion mega-gourd, along with the top five weigh-off pumpkins, will be displayed at the Pumpkin Festival, October 17-18. Mark your calendar and bring your whole family to witness this grand event in Half Moon Bay. Festival goers can get their photo taken alongside the grand champion gourd.
