“Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off” – A Prestigious Half Moon Bay Event

The most awaited event this year is fast approaching. Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off is a famous and prestigious event in Half Moon Bay during October of the year. This year’s event is happening on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the IDES Grounds, 735 Main Street, Half Moon Bay, California. Champions will be awarded a special $30,000 mega prize. Wow! Isn’t that amazing?

To receive the $30,000 mega-prize, the grower must break and hold the world record at the conclusion of the Half Moon Bay weigh-off. The current world record pumpkin is 2,323 pounds set on October 12, 2014 by Swiss grower Beni Meier at a weigh-off in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
